Kampsheide, Balloo
Posted on November 11th, 2010 in PhotographyThe following pictures were taken 3 weeks ago while walking through the area called Kamspheide in Balloo, which is a place in Drenthe, a northern province of the Netherlands. The weather was good, sunny and partly cloudy but with a chilly wind.
The colors where spectacular, the reddish brown of the heath, the green of the trees and moss and the deep blue of the sky look amazing together.
This is just one of the many burial mounds that dot the landscape, some are large while others hardly stand out.
This acorn managed fall and keep balanced on top of this moss-covered branch.
This oak tree stood alone, which might be why it could grow so large.
This tree formed a natural ladder by intertwined branches.
The edge of the forest.
There is a stream hidden in this photo. Look closely and you will see a band of reeds running through the grass where the stream is.
