About The Site

This blog started out as a hosted for free, .tk domain website during the aftermath of the geocities and homestead websites. Fun times. The site has been hosted under bigwaaagh.com for about 5 years now. Bigwaaagh was, and in some cases still is, my screenname of choice.

Since some time I acquired the domain names marijnrongen.com and marijnrongen.nl and placed the website under my personal title.

The content of the site is and will in the future be defined by my personal interests and experiences, in the past this has been my Toyota Celica for example and photography of many different subjects.

Until now all the incarnations of my site where completely built from scratch using (X)HTML, CSS and PHP. Now I’m using WordPress with a LightWord template, adapted by yours truly. I hope this setup will prove to be a much easier publishing tool. With the current WordPress installation I’m currently using the following plugins:

• Akismet; Spam filtering
• Fixed social buttons; Social media image links (top right of page)
• Flickr Photo Album; For easy inserting of Flickr images
• Google Maps embed; For easy-ish inserting of Google Maps
• Google XML Sitemaps; Automated sitemaps for search engines
• WPtouch; Mobile theme for touch screen mobile devices
